The 3 Main Phases of Certification
Knowledge Development
This is the foundation of your training. You will learn the principles and terminology of scuba diving through eLearning or classroom sessions. You will cover physics, physiology, and equipment usage at your own pace.
Confined Water Dives
In a controlled environment, such as a swimming pool, you will practice basic scuba skills. This is where you develop the confidence and muscle memory needed to handle your gear and move underwater safely.
Open Water Dives
The final and most exciting step. You will complete four dives in the open ocean with your instructor. You will demonstrate the skills you learned previously while exploring the actual underwater world.
Prerequisites & Requirements
Before you dive in, ensure you meet the following global industry standards for safety and proficiency:
- Age Requirement: Minimum 10 years old (Junior Open Water) or 15 years old for standard certification.
- Physical Health: Complete a medical questionnaire to ensure you are fit for diving activities.
- Swimming Ability: Demonstrate that you can swim 200 meters and float/tread water for 10 minutes.
- Time Commitment: Most courses take between 3 to 4 days of active training.
